Speed Racer

This past Sunday Charles ran in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. He didn’t really want to. He didn’t even really train for it that much. But, he loves his girlfriend and because she couldn’t run the race, as originally intended, he volunteered to take her place. Such a nice guy!

For someone who really didn’t want to do the race and only completed about 12 training runs he did exceptionally well. His goal was to run 8 minute 15 second mile for a finish time of about 1 hour 47 minutes. Being the competitive guy that he is he crushed his goal and came in at 1 hour 33 minutes! He shaved a full minute off his mile time. He was so fast, that we almost missed him at a few of the points along the course that we stopped to cheer him on. He finished 423 overall out of 12,000 runners. Not bad for a 42 year old!

Thanks to everyone who came out to support Charles on the day of the race and thanks to those who sponsored him beforehand. If you didn’t get a chance to sponsor Charles before the race you still have time. Just click the link below. Thanks!
