It really has and I’m very sorry to my handful of loyal readers that I have not posted anything in the last 3 months. I just haven’t felt like there was much to post about. We haven’t traveled to any new places or done anything super exciting that I thought would interest anyone. Anyhow, after multiple requests (thank you) I’ve chosen a few pictures to help illustrate the one memorable thing we have done over the last few months.
Our trip home to California for the holidays! It was the first time we have been home for Christmas since moving to London (four years). It was a busy trip which spanned 3/4 of the state, but it still felt somewhat restful. We were able to squeeze in visits with all of our family and almost all of our friends.
The first stop was San Diego for the annual Chargers bus trip. This years theme was White Trash. We didn’t have room to pack full costumes for the event so Charles grew a bit of a mustache and I wore a big pair of sunglasses. A pretty weak effort, I’ll admit, but we had a great time nonetheless.
Next stop was my parents house in Bass Lake where my entire family had gathered plus Charles’ parents. 25 people in total! I couldn’t have been happier to be surrounded by my family.
After Christmas we drove up to Charles’ parents cabin in Vallecito near Bear Valley and stayed there four days. We were able to get three days of snowboarding in and enjoyed some perfect conditions. Although boarding in the Alps is really cool and the resorts are HUGE, they just don’t compare to the beauty of the Sierras.
I was just resting, I swear!
Then we drove over to Charles’ home town of Santa Cruz where we got to see my friend Ange and rub here beautiful baby belly. We also reconnected with a few of Charles’ friends at a New Years Eve party.
Charles was demonstrating his stellar dancing moves for us. See the clenched fists? That’s kind of like a version of “the white man’s overbite”.
We finished the trip off with a quick visit to an old friend of mine who I haven’t seen for 10 years! It was so nice to catch up with her and meet her family.
Now we are back in London and are trying to mentally prepare for the overload of birthday parties that are planned for the next two months. I think there is one each weekend, including mine and Charles! I’ve kindly opted to skip my b-day this years so as to lighten the party load for everyone ;o)
